What is a samovar?
Description:
It is a metal vessel used to boil water and prepare tea, especially in Russia, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East.

It usually consists of a body, a base, a chimney (in traditional types), a cover, and a tap for distributing hot water.
Heating:
In a traditional samovar, water is heated by a tube containing solid fuel such as coal or wood. Modern samovars, such as the one pictured, use electricity for heating.
Preparing tea:
A teapot filled with strong tea is placed on top of the samovar (or on a designated place as in the picture) to be heated by steam or heat, then the strong tea is diluted with boiling water from the samovar as desired.
